| Our Mission – Your Community Bakery
Our mission at House of Bread is to become
your neighborhood bakery. We feel a special
connection with the
community we serve – in fact we live in Flagstaff, and Carole's daughter attends a Flag high school.
We donate product to local causes for fundraisers
and food-drives, and will work with organizations to provide
large orders at reduced prices for special community events.
Just for kids
At House of Bread we love children and truly enjoy educating
our youngest community members about the art of baking, nutrition
and running a business. We offer tours of the bakeries as well
as hands-on baking workshops where we train the young and old on the
centuries-old
technique of baking bread from scratch.
If you’d like House of
Bread’s help with an upcoming event,
or if you’d like to schedule a bakery tour for your youth group,
contact us today.
House of Bread offers two tours: Look and Learn Tour: This
free tour is designed for area schools. It is free and lasts 30-40
minutes, showing the process from the
grinding of wheat kernels through shaping and baking. Of course,
samples are included.
Junior Baker’s Tour: Great for kids from pre-school through
High School. In addition to observing the bread making process,
each child gets an opportunity to shape and bake his/her own bread
loaf. These tours are limited to 15 junior bakers at a time and
cost $5.00 per child. The Junior Baker’s tour is an additional
30 minutes after the Look & Learn Tour.
